# Skills

> Find, install, and use reusable Entire workflows for coding agents.

[Skills](https://github.com/entireio/skills) give coding agents reusable workflows for the [Entire CLI](/cli-reference). Each Skill tells an agent when to use Entire, which commands to run, and how to interpret the result.

## What Skills Do

Skills turn requests in natural language into repeatable CLI workflows. They can search [checkpoints](/guides/sessions/overview#what-is-a-checkpoint) and transcripts, trace code to its original session, review changes with recorded intent, and package context for another agent.

Skills use the history Entire has already recorded. Start with a repository that contains at least one agent session and checkpoint.

## Choose a Skill

The [Entire Skills repository](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills) ships these Skills:

| Skill | Use It to | Example Request |
| - | - | - |
| [`address-findings`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/address-findings) | Fix open review findings on an Entire trail and resolve the findings you addressed. | `Address the findings for this trail: TRAIL_URL` |
| [`explain`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/explain) | Find the session that explains why a function, file, or line exists. | `Explain why parseConfig exists` |
| [`recall`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/recall) | Find similar prior work and turn the closest session into a task playbook. | `Have we done a migration like this before?` |
| [`replay`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/replay) | Walk through a feature's checkpoints in chronological order. | `Replay how authentication was built` |
| [`review`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/review) | Read recorded intent, then review the current branch for defects. | `Review this branch before merging` |
| [`search`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/search) | Find prior work by topic, repository, branch, author, or time window. | `Search past work for rate limiting` |
| [`session-crosslink`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/session-crosslink) | Attach a session to affected repositories when the agent started outside them. | `Link this session to the repositories it changed` |
| [`session-handoff`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/session-handoff) | Package active or saved session context for another agent. | `Hand off this session` |
| [`session-to-skill`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/session-to-skill) | Turn session history or a repeated workflow into a reusable Skill draft. | `Turn this session into a Skill` |
| [`teach`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/teach) | Build a lesson focused on a topic from canonical checkpoints. | `Teach me how this repository handles authentication` |
| [`using-entire`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/using-entire) | Route codebase exploration through the relevant Entire Skill and recorded history. | `Explore how authentication works in this codebase` |
| [`what-happened`](https://github.com/entireio/skills/tree/main/skills/what-happened) | Trace the latest change to a file range or pasted snippet. | `What happened at src/auth.ts:42?` |

## Install Skills

Use the [Skills CLI](https://skills.sh/) to install the complete collection:

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://github.com/entireio/skills --all
```

To install the Skill you found in the table, pass its name:

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://github.com/entireio/skills --skill address-findings
```

The installer detects supported agents and their Skill directories. See the [Skills tutorial](/learn/skills#install-skills) for Codex and Claude Code installation commands.

## Install CLI Managed Helpers

The Entire CLI can add two helpers to a repository for Claude Code and Codex:

* `--search-skill` installs a focused helper for `entire search --json`.
* `--agent-help-skill` installs a helper that directs the agent to the command map from the installed Entire CLI.

Install them while enabling Entire:

```bash theme={null}
entire enable --agent codex --search-skill --agent-help-skill
```

You can also add them with an agent integration:

```bash theme={null}
entire agent add codex --search-skill --agent-help-skill
```

These flags install the two helpers for the selected repository and agent. Install the twelve Skills that work across agents through the Skills CLI or your agent's package flow.

## Install a CLI Plugin

Some agent workflows depend on commands that an [Entire CLI plugin](https://github.com/entireio/cli/blob/main/docs/architecture/external-commands.md) supplies. Search the plugin index, inspect a result, and install it by name:

```bash theme={null}
entire plugin search QUERY
entire plugin info NAME
entire plugin install NAME
```

A CLI plugin is an `entire-<name>` executable that adds an `entire NAME` command. It differs from an [`entire-agent-<name>` agent integration](/agents/agent-integration-protocol/overview), which teaches Entire to capture sessions from another coding agent. Install a plugin's agent Skill separately when the workflow also ships a Skill.
